morning. good to be with you. i'm terrell brown. we begin with the resignation of cia director david petraeus. lawmakers want to know if national security was compromised by the extramarital affair that forced him to step down and why they weren't told sooner. it was harassing emails allegedly from petraeus' mistress to another woman that triggered an fbi probe. tara mergener is in washington with details. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. jill kelly took her concerns to the fbi several months ago eventually exposing the affair. now congress is demanding more details. cbs news has learned this woman 37-year-old jill kelly triggered an fbi investigation leading to the resignation of cia director david petraeus. petraeus resigned friday after word got out he was having an affair with his biographer paula broadwell. his resignation caught many on capitol hill offguard. >> it was like a lightning bolt. >> reporter: kelly went to the fbi after allegedly receiving emails from broadwell warning her to back off and to stay away from her guy. broadwell made this comment about pe
in the house. >> former chairman kwame brown will be sentenced in a few days. u.s. attorney general ron machen promised to root out public corruption. he's only recommending six days in jail over three weeks. what message does this send? >> well, richard leon is the federal judge that will pronounce sentence on kwame brown, former city council chairman tuesday, and many people i'm talking to won't be surprised if he doesn't do something unprecedented and doesn't take the recommends of the u.s. attorney. it's considered much toilinet yet and does not send a message to other -- much too lenient and does not send a message to other officials about public corruption and you'll remember that kwame brown came late and didn't report and many people feel that was offensive to the court. so it might not be six days. it might be somewhat longer, much longer. >> i guess we'll find out tuesday. fox 5 political analyst mark plotkin, as always, thank you. >>> just ahead tonight, there was another veterans day service in arlington today to pay tribute to a fallen story. we've got his story and we're highligh
, former d.c. councilman kwame brown will be sentenced tomorrow. he reseened from his council seat back in june and brown is now facing one year in jail. but prosecutors are urging the judge to sentence him to six days in jail and three years supervised release. >>> a sprawpt manager is fighting for his life -- a restaurant manager is fighting for his life. the manager was shot when he confronted some people who were fighting in the parking lot early sunday morning. he got back into the restaurant and two employees called 911. he is listed in critical condition. >>> the alleged east coat rapist has reportedly admitted to raping several women. air op thomas spoke for a reporter for the wash post from the cell where he is awaiting trial in prince william county, virginia. he told the reporter he attacked several women in several states beginning two decades ago but he doesn't know why. thomas is scheduled to plead guilty to one case in leesburg at the end of the month. >>> in the morning line, d.c. united kicked off the eastern conference final against houston. united scored first when a

information on a study showing a possible link between the flu and autism. patti ann browne live with the details. >> hello, rick. the study found women who had flu while they were pregnant were twice as likely to have a child later diagnosed with autism. mothers with a fever lasting a week or longer whether caused by flu or something else were three times as likely to have an autistic child. the study suggests inflammation caused by the mother's immune system during pregnancy could affect the developing child's brain according to "nbc news." the 96,000 children studied were born in denmark between 1997 and 2003. the mothers were interviewed twice while they were pregnant and again when their babies were six months old. it showed women who took certain antibioticses were likely to have a child with autism, -- more likely. it is not known whether those that took the drugs were sicker than other women. women who said they had a cold, urinary tract infection or her piece were not like more likely to have a child autism. they said pregnant women who get the flu should not panic. 99%
